Sometimes it’s tough!

Running a blog is not always easy. Forgive me ’cause I have been kinda bad in not keeping up to date but I will try from now on to add posts at least weekly. As I am working here, I decided that it’s maybe time to make a “desert island list” of my favourite music. Some are CD as they aren’t available on LP but most are lp. Making a list of top 25 albums can be rather tough but here goes my list for today – no real order of preference.

  • Eric Bibb; Painting Signs – The Pure Pleasure Version on LP
  • Eric Clapton; Blues
  • Eric Clapton; Me and Mr Johnson
  • John Coltrane; Blue Train
  • Miles Davis; Kinda Blue
  • Dire Straits; Love Over Gold.
  • Dire Straits; Sultans of Swing
  • Eagles; One of These Nights
  • Pink Floyd; Wish You Were Here
  • Pink Floyd; Division Bell
  • Melody Gardot; My One And Only Thrill
  • Stan Getz; Getz / Gilberto
  • Stan Getz; with the Oscar Peterson
  • Buddy Holly: Self Titled
  • Alberta Hunter: Downhearted Blues
  • Stacey Kent; Collection I
  • Stacey Kent; Breakfast on the Morning Train
  • Peggy Lee; Black Coffee
  • Peggy Lee; Best of
  • Julie London (anything)
  • Modern Jazz Quartet: Pyramid
  • Jerry Gui
  • Anna Popovic; Unconditional
  • Frank Sinatra: Only The Lonely
  • Nina Simone; Feelin’ Good
  • Nina Simone; Sings the Blues
  • Joanne Shaw Taylor; White Sugar
  • Muddy Waters: Fathers And Sons
  • Beatles; Revolver
  • Rolling Stones; High Tide And Green Grass.
  • Cannonball Adderley – Somethin’ Else
  • Eric Clapton; Blues
  • Eric Clapton; Me and Mr Johnson

…. Guess I can’t do 30 or even 130!

Truly, it is rough to pick and choose. I’ve left off so many it’s crazy. Anyway, make your own list, try to do 25 and send it to me. I will publish in my blog.
